Garry received his nickname, "The Whacker" in 1999, and it has stuck with him ever since. Garry, who won the Moscow Open in 2002 and was Europe's Player of the Year in 2000, is again listed among the top ranked European players in 2004.

Garry learned to play poker at school and improved his skills through years of experience. He was previously employed as a sales manager. His Favourite poker game is 7 Card Stud.

Garry Bush's biggest poker moment was when he finished in 2nd place in the $3,000 Hold'em event at the 2004 World Series of Poker.

Garry Bush advises new poker players:
"Never play outside your financial limits."

His tip to experienced players is:
"Study everyone's play at the table before getting involved."
