He is regarded as the most liked poker players among regulars of the tournament circuit. Combined with his
brother Jose Rosenkrantz, he makes up the Costa Rica Connection a respected and successful group of players originating
from Central America.
Humberto Brenes is a successful business entrepreneur who learnt how to play poker as a child from his father. He started
professionally as a gambler making money at Baccarat from tourists in Costa Rica resorts.
It wasnt long before he realised he had real talent and moved on to professional poker.
Humberto Brenes has won an estimated $1,698,241 since 2004. His greatest win within that period was $923,475 for 2nd place
at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic II, in December of 2004.
